The holistic sciences of Indian wisdom encompass a vast and ancient tradition of knowledge that integrates Body, mind, and soul. They work for the holistic wellness and harmony of the microcosmos and the macrocosmos.
These sciences are deeply rooted in our ancient civilization's philosophical, spiritual, and practical wisdom. They help us understand life and its journey much more profoundly and wholesomely. The key components of these holistic sciences include Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, Darshan Shastra (Philosophy), Astrology, Natya and Sangeet Shastra (classical dance and music forms), and the Vastu Shastra, among others. Each modality shapes individual health; Yoga and Ayurveda stand at the top.
Ayurveda and Yoga are sister sciences of the Vedic tradition. Ayurveda focuses on physical, mental, and pranic health through natural medicines, lifestyle modification, and a deep level of detoxification known as Panchakarma therapies.
Yoga works at the molecular level and connects with universal energies. It harmonizes the mind, Body, and consciousness and steers us toward Self-Realization.
The science of Yoga was officially documented around 5000 years ago. However, it has always been Existential, Experimental, and Experiential In nature. Yoga is currently a massive market globally. People teach it under different brands and have styled it according to their beliefs. The depth and primarily its medicinal benefits have yet to be fully known to the world. It is usually a physical practice, while few explore its psychological and intellectual knowledge. In the modern world, when the stress rate is so high, society has become highly disease-prone, which has led to pharmacological dependency and toxicity.
Amidst the massive presence of Yoga in the Western and global markets, our techniques have a competitive edge over others. Our teachings are inspired by the classical methodology and traditional yogic methods.
Western modality works brilliantly in the emergent situation, but unfortunately, it's more on the surface than how it should be. During the pandemic, we as humans have gone through collective trauma/crisis. It is the best time now to integrate the therapeutic side of Yoga into the medical arena to upscale the power of healing. Galore of Yoga institutions worldwide are doing well but have yet to focus on the therapeutic aspect and its potential.
Three Bodies, Five sheathes(cover), also known as Pancha Kosha, and the six koshas, which is a para-state (Paramananda Kosha)
Yogic Chitiksa views our existence as much more profound than anything accessible to modern science. Regarding our being, we live in a state of unawareness because we think primarily of the physical layer.
Even though we all experience complexities at the level of mind, thoughts, energy, and emotions, we hardly delve into their construction. Pancha Kosha (five sheathes) and the three bodies are the basic blueprint of our human existence, where we travel from outside to inside.
Three bodies within which five layers exist as koshas. The physical, subtle, and causal Body, also known as the seed body, holds the five koshas. When everything dissolves, only the consciousness remains, and we reach the para-state in the Paramananda Kosha(pure Chetna).
In the Yoga Therapy protocol, we divide each disease into different groups after diagnosing the root cause. The diagnosis differs slightly from a medical diagnosis as it is not subjective but an individualized assessment of a person's collective being. The treatment protocols align with our disease classification into three groups: Stress-induced, subjective, and Contagious.
Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine that dates back over 5,000 years. It is based on the idea that wellness is a state of balance between the body, mind, and spirit, and that everything in the universe is interconnected. The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words: "Ayur" meaning life and "Veda" meaning knowledge or science, so it translates to "the science of life."
In Ayurveda, health is seen as the balance of three primary humours, or doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each individual has a unique combination of these doshas known as Prakriti. When Doshas are out of balance they are known as Vikruti and manifest as Disease.
Represents air and space; governs movement, breath, and circulation
Represents fire and water; governs digestion, metabolism, and transformation.
Represents earth and water; governs structure, stability, and lubrication.
Panchakarma is a detoxification and rejuvenation process is an ayurvedic detox . The word "Panchakarma" literally means "five actions" .These therapies are designed to eliminate toxins from the body, balance the doshas to promote overall wellness.
Panchakarma involves a series of cleansing methods, usually tailored to an individual's unique doshic constitution and health conditions. The five main components of Panchakarma are: Vamana(Medicatyed Emesis), Virechana(Purgation), Basti(Enema),Raktamoshana(Blood Cleansing), Nasya(Nasal Therapy).
Panchakarma helps eliminate toxins (called "ama" in Ayurveda) from the body, improving overall health.
Both Ayurveda and Panchakarma aim to bring balance to the body’s doshas and promote mental and emotional well-being.
Ayurvedic practices like meditation, yoga, and herbal treatments are often used to alleviate stress and anxiety.
Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on digestive health, and Panchakarma can help reset digestive processes.
Panchakarma is often used for rejuvenation and anti-aging, helping to restore vitality and energy.
Regular Ayurvedic practices, including seasonal Panchakarma, are seen as preventive measures to maintain health and prevent illness.
Panchakarma is considered beneficial for people dealing with a range of health issues. Ayurveda and Panchakarma offer a natural and comprehensive approach to health and healing. They emphasize prevention and balance, addressing the root causes rather than just treating symptoms. Panchakarma, as a detoxification therapy, is one of the most powerful tools in Ayurveda to cleanse the body, balance the doshas, and promote longevity.
If you are considering Panchakarma or Ayurvedic treatments, it is important to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor the therapies to your individual needs.
